The Perfect Description.
My priest described Jesus as The Divine Physician today during his homily. How fitting.
So in love with life!
Sinus.
What an ugly word, no? Sinus. Ew. Everything about it is gross…which is fitting. Because I have something funky going on up in thurr.
Luckily, I have Tylenol AM/PM so I am not repeating last year’s 2-week death trap known as the flu. This is the first time I have gotten even remotely sick in over a year. I’d call that a success!
Tonight is the open mic in North Providence that...

LOVIN’ LIFE.
Slackin' on the blogfront.
Hello pumpkin pies! Oy. I know, it’s been days…and I’m having slight bloggie withdrawals. So, I’m curing them now.
Quick re-cap: Played an open mic on Friday night. Amazing. Met some incredibly talented musicians (one of which was a CLONE of Eric Clapton in every possible way) and am going back in 2 weeks for a VERY important night. Details to come!
Matty and I went to...
Listening is belonging.
Everything is inspiring me today! I’m convinced it is a direct result of listening to the following while doing my lab report (for 5 hours!) yesterday:
Kings of Convenience
Sufjan Stevens
Jose Gonzalez
Joshua Radin
Holly Brook
That combined with listening to myself. I know that this seems sort of cliche and trite. But it’s so true. Ever since I started listening to myself -...
M.I.A.
Sorry! I’ve been super busy with lab reports and exams…and a sufficient blog post has not been a resulting effect. I’ll be back to normal in a couple of days.
Stay lovely!
Old Lady Status.
It’s official. I’m an old lady.
I tried to stay up and watch the Oscars. Epic fail; I fell asleep at 10:30. SO HAPPY THAT SANDRA BULLOCK WON! Geesh, I love her. She looked so elegant yet she still maintained her fresh sense of humor. I think we’re secretly meant to be friends.
Best dressed, I have to hand it to the one and only:
She literally took my breath away with this...
Sunshine and strawberries.
The SUNSHINE is gorgeous today and I just ate the most delectable STRAWBERRIES.
I got a 100 on my Biology quiz and a 91 on my Consumer Economics exam so I treated myself to all play and no work yesterday.
Matty and I hung out/worked on music and then Sarah, Amanda, and I went to the movies to see Valentine’s Day (I know, I know!). It was cute; served its purpose. Let us note that Jessica...

I saw Rogue Wave last night with Hannah. I called up Hayato and he came too. I’m sorry, Rogue Wave, but I was not feeling your new stuff. It sounded like a 90’s radio rock band with a little jam put into it.
They did play an entertaining show though, I just wish they played Postage Stamp World…
Isn’t it so tragic that Copeland is breaking up?! It makes me want to cry every time I...
Gretchen Gave Me Gumption.
Yesterday was glorious. I had the sheer pleasure of interviewing Olympic snowboarder and all-around incredible person Gretchen Bleiler. And to be honest, it was a life-changing conversation.
When she was 18, Gretchen decided to forgo college and pursue snowboarding - the love of her life. She woke up at 4:00 a.m. every morning to work at a bakery and afterwards, would hit the powder. Once she...
A Sentimental Yearning: Girl rant. →
A little discouraged. I’ve been dieting and exercising like mad for the past couple weeks now and I’ve seen no weight loss. I couldn’t blame myself because I changed everything to achieve my goals. Then it came to me…birth control pills. I haven’t had the best of luck when it came to the different…
Baby! Listen, birth control really messes with your body. If you’re doing everything...
A Whole belly of goodness.
Indeed it is, thanks to Whole Foods’ barbecue tempeh, ancient grain salad, and vegan “tuna” salad with sesame seeds, agave, and of course…foodgasms. [;
Side note: While I was at Whole Foods, some guy came up to me and says “You’re really pretty.” To which I replied, “Excuse me?” And he said, “You’re a really pretty girl. Very...

Oh, oh it's MAGIC. You know?
Magic has resurfaced in many forms this weekend. The kind of magic that makes you sit back and pinch yourself.
Starting with last night. I performed at an open mic in North Attleboro, which just so happened to be a dual fundraiser for Dan Cronin. For those of you that don’t know, Dan was just in high school when he passed away three years ago. A scholarship has been made in his name, thanks...
Come along with me...
…to our little corner of the world. We could hide away in our little corner of the world. I always knew that I’d find someone like you. So, hop over to our little corner of the world.
Love story.
So, Matty came up for dinner last night. When he came to pick me up, I scrambled down the staircase like a chicken with its head cut off. I guess you could say I missed him a little bit. [;
When I arrived at the car to open to the passenger door, I could see some sort of contraption that looked like a laptop resting on his lap. Once I sat down, he smiled and I gave him one of those quizzical...
The perks keep on comin'.
So, I scored that interview with Gretchen Bleiler and I’m SO excited about it! Now, I want your help!
As a reader, what would you want to learn/know about Gretchen?
Check. Check. Check.
It is truly amazing what a list can do for your life.
I know, you’re probably thinking, “Why is this control-freak-of-a-girl so excited about a list?!” But alas, I am. In order to feel 100% accomplished, I love to map everything out for the day that needs to get done, take a deep breath, and try to conquer it. If it doesn’t happen that day, it moves onto the following...
Wake-up call.
As insinuated from the heading, this weekend was a huge wake-up call. For the better.
While I’m used to working and/or being in school 7 days a week, I unexpectedly had this weekend off. It gave me a chance to spend time with my family and Matty - not two-hours-or-less hanging out sessions that leave me freaking out about the unprecedented amount of work looming over my head.
I realized...
I caved!

If loving Evan Lysacek is wrong...
then I so don’t want to be right.
He just might be the sexiest olympian to walk the planet. There is nothing more attractive than someone with that much humble talent, drive, and determination. And his exterior isn’t too bad either. [;
Anyone with me here?!
Opposite Day.
Today is a complete 180 from yesterday. After classes (8:30-11:30), I came back here and did homework until 4:00. I only got 1.5 assignments done. 1.5!!!
It’s so discouraging. I have so much to do and literally not enough time to do it. Why does school like to kill me slowly?
The power of feeling beautiful.
It’s undoubtedly the most empowering feeling to love yourself and not feel selfish for it.
Writing an article for my feature writing class on body image on campus was a big feat. It brings me back to that place of fear and loathing that I had become familiar with for five years amidst the throws of my eating disorder. But I conquered it…without resorting back to old habits. And...
KelseaCardoza: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH →
I am in SUCH a rut. I feel like I’m not producing anything remotely up to my potential. Shooting today was awful, such a shame because we were at a beautiful location. I need a new camera. The one I have just isn’t at the level I need it to be. I knew I should have got the Canon 5D Markii right…
Darling girl, we’ll rock it out on Saturday and get your confidence back in check! [:
I just discovered...
…a freckle on my stomach that I had never seen before.
OH LIFE.
Miracles are happening.
I think that God heard my pleas through free-flowing tears last night. While I was trying to fall asleep, people were outside making ridiculous amounts of noise, beeping horns, blasting awful music; you name it, it was happening outside my window.
Granted it was fairly early (10:15) but by the time 12:00 rolled around and the awful music had increased and the shrieks and shrills of my fellow...
work, work, work, work, work, work…etc.
so over spring semester!
Faith is all we need.
Proverbs 31:30 - “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
School is out at 12:30 today!
Which means I do not have to endure two grueling hours of Consumer Economics, sitting in my rolling chair with drool inching its way down my chinny-chin-chin.
Cheers to that, lovelies!
There is nothing...
…like inspiring a group of strangers through music. So happy!
I didn’t know it was possible to cry your eyes out over Chemistry two days in a row.
This week keeps getting better...
EXPLAIN THIS TO ME: MY SCHOOL LABELS A SPLIT PEA SOUP “VEGAN” WHEN THERE ARE TRACES OF HAM IN IT?!?!
RAWWWRRR.
Apologies.
Wow. Come school-time, this blog seriously goes under the wayside and I just about despise it!
I’m literally in class or doing work from 8:30-4:30 everyday and it just seems like there isn’t enough time to get it all done. It’s just so frustrating because I’m not slacking off. I’m not aimlessly perusing through food blogs. I’m not even practicing music!
Case...
